Governor Alexander Kanevsky
In the United States the political system gives us the right to choose our leaders. We have the right to vote on our representation to choose the best candidate for the public. Every eligible citizen can choose the candidate they feel will best represent based on any number of personal criteria. Often they choose based on morals, intelligence, political stance, or campaign promises. This freedom of democratic process gives citizens control over the structure of their government. Not everyone likes who ends up in office, but that's all part of the process.
Just like the President of the United States is seen as the leader of the federal government, the governor is the leader of each state's structure. They are elected to speak and act on behalf of the residents of that state. In Connecticut, governors are elected every 4 years. There aren't any requirements for the background of a governor, so candidates can come from a variety of backgrounds.
One candidate for governor of Connecticut has a broad history of accomplishment. Dr. Alexander Kanevsky is a respected physician, awarded artist and author, and even a kung fu master. He was born near Moscow in 1959, but he has been a resident of Connecticut for a number of years. His accomplishments are evidence of his strong work ethic. The doctor often works over 18 hours a day on his paintings and writing, still finding time to practice medicine. It's no wonder this candidate has been referred to as Super Renaissance Man.
Our election system has been established so each citizen can take part in the choice of the federal and state leaders. Each person's choice might be based on a number of reasons. Choosing a candidate that has the qualities and dedication of a leader is crucial to our nation's success. In Connecticut, Dr. Alexander Kanevsky has shown that a candidate for governor can be much more than just a politician.
